About Us

Bea and Derek moved to France from Hove in July 2012. Bea was previously co-managing a counselling charity and Derek was running his own antique furniture and objets d'art restoration business. 

We have both loved sourcing, renovating and restoring properties and antiques for many years, so Pyron offered a wealth of opportunity! After spending many holidays in France and loving all things French, we decided to move to this unspoilt area of the Chalosse with picturesque rolling hills, friendly welcoming people and so many new places to explore.

Since then we have renovated Maison Pyron, Le Grenier, Le Four, most of the grounds and have installed a large swimming pool with solar-heating, terracing and a solar-heated shower. We have recently added a potager with delicious fruits and vegetables and a small orchard of peach, apricot, cherry, plum, apple and fig trees. We continue to upgrade year on year and Le Grenier now has a new outside terrace with garden furniture and we are currently investigating renewable energy heat sources.

We continue to enjoy sourcing and selling French antiques and objects, which you can view at Pyrontique. 

It's your holiday and the place is yours to enjoy. We are here if you need anything and can help you with any bookings, days out or printing boarding passes. We will maintain the pool and grounds during your stay.

We’re happy to share a drink with guests. Moving to another country has been full of benefits and challenges and we are more than happy to share some of our experiences, if you are contemplating spending some time or moving to France.
